WEDDING | Maria & Vlad | Burnaby Wedding Photography

I literally have no words to describe this wedding.  It was one of those that leave you with a happy feeling for weeks afterwards – knowing that you have witnessed two people so loving, so full of life, and so perfect for each other that  it makes you believe in miracles.  That sounds so cheesy but I don’t know how else to describe it!  :P  I felt so honoured to be a part of Maria and Vlad’s day.

Maria and Vlad hired me as their wedding photographer so long ago I feel like I have known them for a really long time.  Let’s put this into perspective – I’m pretty sure that when they booked me, my portfolio consisted of travel shots of Europe (all shot on automatic with a Rebel Xti + pretty crappy lens).  I didn’t even really know for sure if this was what I wanted to do as a career, and I was still ‘testing the waters’ and trying to decide if it would work.  I don’t know what they saw in me back then….  Whatever it was, I don’t even know if my mom saw it.  :)

I feel like I have come so incredibly far since then.  I am so proud of my work at this wedding, and am so happy that some of my favourite wedding shots this year were of one of my favorite couples. :)

Here are some of my favourites of the day:

The ceremony was in the rose garden up on Burnaby Mountain.  I love outdoor ceremonies, and the light was really good for midday = happy rebecca.blog[cl]rozic0378

We headed up to SFU, (also on Burnaby Mountain – nice and close!) for shots of the wedding party – one of my favourite locations ever. So many cool spots, I could have happily shot there for at least 3 more hours.  No joke.blog[a]rozic2135

The whole day seriously felt like something out of a movie.  We headed up to convocation mall at SFU, thinking it would be pretty deserted and we could have our way with it.  Wrong.  It was jammed full of energetic business students at some kind of orientation thing.  Well they all flipped out when they saw a bride walking through, and everyone started cheering and clapping.  It was insane!  Picture the amount of people I got in this shot x probably 10, all super pumped and wearing bright t-shirts.  Crazy.  (Maria and Vlad are the ones in the middle not wearing the ‘I <3 Biz’ shirts…)  :Pblog[a]rozic2182

I. Love.  This. Wall.[blog]mvblog0005

Maria <3’s trees, so we had to get a picture of her hugging one.   (I’m fairly convinced that one day she will single-handedly save the rainforest.  Maybe this can be her campaign poster?) :D[blog]mvblog0004

I love people who smile all the time.  So happy.blog[cl]rozic2445
