WEDDING | Julie & Ryan | Burnaby Wedding Photography

Julie and Ryan’s wedding was a little over two weeks ago and it still makes me smile thinking about it.  I was so excited for it for months before, for a few reasons.  Julie and Ryan are both so good looking it’s almost not fair.  From a photographer’s perspective that means that instead of looking for their good angles, all I have to worry about is looking for the best picture. Julie = zero bad angles.  Another reason is that Julie is as sweet as she is gorgeous, and so I knew that it would be a fun day.  As long as it didn’t rain.
The forecast had been calling for rain for about a week, and I was pretty nervous about it – I had some undercover locations in mind, but they had a huge wedding party, which makes things difficult.  The picture below is what my floor looked like as I was packing for the wedding.   Featured are 11 black umbrellas that I picked up for the day and now permanently keep in my trunk for peace of mind….. But we didn’t have to use them!  :D :D :D
The day was gorgeous, the church was gorgeous, Julie was gorgeous, the flower girls were gorgeous, etc etc etc. and everything was perfect.  And I love love love these pictures.

Beautiful ceremony.
Sidenote: I love Catholic weddings because they are usually during a full mass, which equals looooong.  Gives me tons of time to sneak around and get the best shots.  Most ceremonies nowadays are 20 minutes max.  Still beautiful, but it goes by so fast!  Plus, I’m Catholic (so yes, besides probably being very biased because my wedding will be Catholic) I know exactly what’s going on.  Aka I can sneak off to get an overhead view during the homily and rest assured that I won’t miss the kiss.  :D

Tears!
These are always some of my favourite shots.  Yes, I suppose it’s a little strange that I’m happy to see people cry…. but it sure makes a darn good picture.
Grooms crying are even better.
Making it legal.
One of my favourites:
Awesome shoes.So beautiful.
This one isn’t super sharp, but I had to leave it in.  It is way too cute.
Our ring bearer wasn’t exactly thrilled to be in front of the camera, so I was happy to catch a big smile.
The boys always want to do silly shots, so I get them to do a ‘good’ one before I let them do the silly stuff.  This is the kind of thing they come up with.  It always cracks me up.  :D
I can’t remember if he was doing ‘Blue Steel’ or ‘Magnum’.  I think those are the names (haven’t watched Zoolander in a long time.)
Instead of the traditional pillow, they tied the rings to a little First Communion Bible.  What a cute idea!
The bands with Julie’s custom made engagement ring.  Stunning.Love the bouquet, and love the rosary on it too.  Beautiful.
Cake!
Entering the reception as ‘Mr. & Mrs.’!!!
Julie’s older brothers were the MC’s, and were pretty hilarious.
And, as they should be, some of the speeches were touching too.  :)
Julie telling Ryan what will happen to him if he smears her face with cake.  Apparently she scared him, because he fed her some very nicely.
Ryan’s sister and brother-in-law had a baby the day before the wedding.  THE DAY BEFORE.
And they were there at the wedding with the new baby!  Now that is dedication.
This is Ryan’s brother-in-law with their one day old newest family member.

Julie and Ryan; thank you so much for such a wonderful day.  I know you two will be so happy together and you make such an amazing couple.  I hope these pictures provide you with memories for years to come.  :)
