WEDDING | Jenny&Shawn | Abbotsford Wedding Photography

Sit back and relax for a few minutes, because this is looking to be a pretty epic post – probably the largest wedding post I have done to date.  :)  There are just so many I love!

Jenny and Shawn’s wedding day was perfect.  Seriously.  The weather was ideal – like, ultra blue with fluffy white clouds ideal.  The sun shone down throughout the day over their intimate ceremony at Minter Gardens, and it stayed comfortably warm into the evening: perfect for the beautiful backyard reception they hosted at their home in Abbotsford.

In the morning I first checked in on Jenny, who was getting ready with her two best friends/maids of honour.  Jenny was so relaxed and so glowing (yes, I know, a ‘glowing bride’ sounds just about as cliche as a ‘glowing pregnant woman’, but Jenny really was glowing.)  I’ll start off with some of my favourite of many detail shots.   Yes, I know – I posted three shoe shots.  I liked all three, okay?  :P

This may be one of the sweetest things I have ever read on a wedding morning. blogbw[cl]wKlassen000089blog[cl]wKlassen000097

Jenny’s parents peeked in upstairs to check on her – they looked so happy and so proud.

Shawn’s daughter (and super cute flower girl) came over in the morning to hang with the girls.  Here she is practising her bubble blowing skills before the ceremony.

Next stop – Minter Gardens, where I caught the boys getting ready with their finishing touches.

Guests arriving…blogwKlassen000446

This one needs an explanation as one of the cutest things I have ever seen at a wedding:  Everyone was slowly arriving, and the seats were over half full when Shawn’s daughter Jordyn began to seranade the guests with renditions of ‘Twinkle Twinkle Little Star’ and her ‘ABC’s’.  (Yes, the microphone was on.  And yes, it was way too adorable.)blog[cl]wKlassen000423

And it begins… Shawn escorting Jenny’s mom down the aisle.  Everyone looked so happy all day.

We started off portraits right in Minter Gardens – I could have shot there for hours, there were so many cool spots.  Love this Grecian looking fountain.blog[cl]Klassen-peek0116

They got a little wet while appeasing me with getting this shot, but it was so worth it.  Love love love.

Magical?  I think so.blog[cl]wKlassen000849

The girls, (with their beautiful bouquets made by simply perfect flowers in Abbotsford):blogwKlassen000859

They were troopers walking through this ivy covered walkway – it was swarming with bees!  Thankfully, we made it out alive and sting free (and with cool pictures to prove it.)blog[cl]Klassen-peek0124blog[cl]wKlassen001004

Oh Jenny, seriously?  Too pretty.blogbw[cl]Klassen-peek0107

On to location #deux:  Abbotsford fire hall.  So cool.  (I guess I should mention that Shawn is a firefighter – that would make this location make more sense, eh?)   :D

Absolute favourite!  :Pblog[cl]wKlassen0863

Back at the ranch (Jenny&Shawn’s house/ reception location) I found all these cool little antique firetruck toys: perfect for a creative ring shot. blog[cl]Klassen-peek0303

The details at the reception were so cute.  Loving these mini chinese lantern thingamagigs Jenny strung outside the front of the house.  Perfect.blog[cl]wKlassen000294

All of their guests, gathered in the backyard.  I love this one because everyone looks so happy (Trickier to do than one might think in a group shot this large).  It’s probably because I was tottering on top of a ladder and looking pretty silly.  ;)

And a group shot of the Moxie’s gang (the restaurant I used to work at & where I met Jenny!)  Yes, that’s me crouched in the front.  :D   I can’t remember who took this shot for me, but thankyou!blog[cl]wKlassen0803

And last but not least; for the photographers out there reading:  I love it when other photographers do this, so I picked another shot to show the difference between my SOOC (straight out of camera) shot and the finished image (tweaked in photoshop with TRA).  This one I didn’t do too much to, but I still think that nice little ‘pop’ and sharpening in the finished image make a big difference.  What do you think?

BEFORE:                                                                                                                                           AFTER:2blog[cl]wKlassen000073Jenny and Shawn and everyone who was a part of the wedding – thank you so much.  I had so much fun, and it was one of the most relaxing, fun weddings I’ve been to in a while.  I know you two will be so happy together, and wish you all the best.  :)signature2
