big changes & little kenna

I know, I know….. it’s been about two weeks since I’ve posted last!  Generally I blog about twice a week, so I’m sure you were all very concerned and ready to call my next of kin, right? Right?!

:P

I have a number of very good reasons for my little hiatus, a few exciting ones being:

#1.  I may or may not be opening my very own little office in White Rock this summer.

#2.  I may or may not be able to see the ocean from said office.  (!!!)

#3.  I may or may not be working on a complete re-branding of my business, and taking it in an entirely new direction in 2011.

#4.  (This one is definitely true) I’ve been working on getting my wedding invitations ready to mail out – as my wedding is commencing in approximately 81 days.  EIGHTY ONE!!!   Crazy.   (Yes, I will post pictures of them when they’re ready.)

“Why, Rebecca (you ask) did you decide to tackle all of these crazy endeavors in one summer?”

My response?  Well – I do not know.  But it’s all happening and it’s pretty darn exciting.   In the meantime though, please excuse my erratic blogging as I have a ton of painting and planning and designing and general organizing and decision-making to do.  :)

In the hopes that you will excuse my lack of pretty pictures lately, here are some super cute ones of Jennifer’s adorable little girl Kenna.   We had quite the time getting this little girl to sleep for the camera, but we still managed to capture quite a few that I just love:

The crochet blanket she is wrapped in was mom’s baby blanket too.  :)

It’s a toss up between the one above and the one below for my fave.  So peaceful.
Alright, back to work for me!  I hope you’re all having a wonderful Tuesday, and planning on having a wonderful week.  :)

of soakers and tree climbing.

Looking back, I think I had a pretty cool childhood.  I grew up on acreage in Surrey – lots of land, but no other kids in sight.  (Which may explain my social awkwardness.)  :P

My older sister and I resorted to reading, climbing trees, and playing make-believe in the bushes of the overgrown lot next door (aka: fairy glens, secret forts, and magic faraway lands).  Rarely a day went by without one of us  stepping in a gigantic puddle and running back to the house…

“Mooooommmmyyyy!!!!! I got a SOAKER!”

Yep, that’s what we called them.  ’Soaker’. You know, when you step so deep in muddy guck that it fills your ducky (that’s what we called our rubber shoes.)  :D

Long story short, this obsession of mine with overgrown abandoned places has transferred into adult life.   I love photographing clients in overgrown, wild, out of the way places.  So that’s where I met with Sheena and Tyler for their engagement session.  Within about ten minutes, I got a soaker AND Sheena got a soaker.   Good thing she’s awesome and didn’t freak out in the slightest.

Sheena and Tyler are getting married in an outdoor ceremony in Langley in June (I looooooove outdoor weddings!), and will be my last wedding before I take some time off to get ready for my own.  :)  They are super cool, totally laid back, and I can’t wait to hang out with them again on their wedding day.

Minus the soakers.  :D

P.s. I also made them climb trees.  :D

I love this one – according to Sheena it’s pretty rare to catch Tyler with a big smile.

Pretty ring!

Sheena and Tyler – thanks for being so awesome, and for putting up with my random muddy location.  :)  Can’t wait till the wedding!

I hope you’re all having a fantastic Tuesday.
