Lions and Tigers and Bears, Oh My!

Really, we saw all three! I decided that I’ve been sitting at my desk too much this week (when my arm started to hurt from mouse clicking, I knew it was time to take action) so Adam and I headed off to the Greater Vancouver Zoo!

Here is where it is:
It was a gorgeous day – but we both forgot sunglasses or hats of any kind, and Adam was wearing jeans. Pretty sure it will take a few weeks to get used to it not being winter anymore….

Okay down to the good stuff. The nitty gritty. The predators. The colourful birds. An old hat. An old hat? Adam made fun of me for taking this picture – it was sitting along the side of the road all dusty-like: pretty cool hat, no? But there were zebras right next door and I was crouched down focused on taking a picture of a hat. Ok fine, you have license to make fun. :)

Shadow the Grizzly was Adam’s favourite – she put on quite a show. She wasn’t too big, but the two year old next to us kept exclaiming that she was ‘HUMONGOUS!’. So cute.

She started throwing this log around – talk about power!
Every time she tossed the log, the two year old exclaimed – “He got a penalty! Another penalty, Right?!” CUTE.

This animal is the largest rodent in the world. It was HUGE. Like, the size of a small cow huge. But it looked like a hamster. Weird.

We met a friend and her boys there! This is one of her twins.

On the way home:
Adam: “Could you please put the camera strap around your neck? That is your livelihood you’re dangling out of the window.”
Me: “Oops.” *sheepish grin*

It was a really hot, sweaty, tiring day. (I took a nap when we got home.) But…. it was so nice to get out of the house, go somewhere with Adam and take pictures just for fun.

In Summary: Yay zoo!
