This week I had an e.session with Tina and PJ – we’ve been waiting to be able to get together for some time (not sure on the finer details, but Tina is Canadian and PJ is American – and boy does all that government stuff sound like a difficult process!) but paperwork finally went through and a week and a half before the wedding (eek!) we finally managed to get together for a shoot at Peace Arch Provincial Park, where they are also getting married soon. Very fitting, eh?
This shoot had some super awesome things and some not so super awesome things. To begin with the awesome – Tina and PJ. They are the kind of couple that laughs easily and is not nervous in front of the camera at all (or if they were, I couldn’t tell!). They just continued to be super fun and act crazy in love for the whole session – which frankly makes my job super easy.
The second awesome thing was the light. It was so perfect! This park has some great little nooks, and tall trees which hid the sun’s glare but still let it flare over the top a little. Yum Yum Yum.
And the not so super awesome things? I split my heel open on a rock (Yes, I am a Super Clutz) while scouting out the park. This happened about 5 minutes before Tina and PJ were supposed to arrive! My foot instantly started leaking blood, which consequently pooled in the bottom of my flipflop. Gross. (Sorry to anyone with a weak stomach.) A nice lady helped me out by giving me some kleenex to clean up with, and after hobbling to the bathroom my foot soon stopped bleeding. Phew. (Props to Adam for helping me clean it out properly in the bathroom sink later that evening.)
Second not so awesome thing: Near the end of the session, when we were doing a shot on the grass, a bee stung my finger! I haven’t been stung in about 10 years! No, it wasn’t my ‘trigger-finger’, but it still hurt! Stupid bee. Okay so by now I’m sure you’re all sick of my ranting, so I will get down to the pictures.
Below is proof that contrary to popular belief, overgrown weeds at the edge of the parking lot CAN make a fabulous picture. :)
Above is the shot I was taking when I got stung by the stupid bee. Someone tell me it was worth it? Please? :P
Below is Tina’s ring – probably the most photogenic ring I have ever photographed, and pretty sweet too.
Tina and PJ were already legally married in the States, so obviously PJ already has a wedding ring!
Above are the two together.
Thanks for such a fun session you guys, and I look forward to seeing you again in less than two weeks!
